Children Daycare

Policies & Procedures

Clear policies help us keep every child safe, healthy, and thriving. Please review these before your first day.

Hours & Attendance

  • Operating hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Drop-off: No later than 9:00 AM unless prior arrangement is made
  • Pick-up: By 5:00 PM sharp. A late fee of $1/minute applies after 5:00 PM
  • Absences: Please notify us by 7:30 AM if your child will not be attending
  • Holidays: We observe CT state holidays — a full calendar is provided at enrollment

Health & Illness Policy

  • Children must stay home if they have a fever of 100.4°F or higher
  • Children with vomiting, diarrhea, or contagious illness (pink eye, strep throat, hand-foot-mouth, lice) must remain home
  • A child must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning (without fever-reducing medication)
  • If a child becomes ill during the day, parents will be called and must pick up within 1 hour
  • Current immunization records are required per CT OEC licensing regulations

Tuition & Payment

  • Tuition is due every Friday for the following week (one week in advance)
  • A late payment fee of $25 applies if payment is not received by Monday morning
  • We accept Care 4 Kids and Early Start CT subsidies — families are responsible for any co-pay
  • Two weeks written notice is required for withdrawal from the program
  • Tuition is owed regardless of child absence, vacations, or holidays (unless provider closes)

Authorized Pick-Up & Safety

  • Only individuals listed on your Authorized Pick-Up form may collect your child
  • Photo ID will be requested from anyone not personally known to us
  • Children will not be released to anyone not on the authorized list, regardless of relationship
  • Please notify us in writing of any changes to your authorized pick-up list
  • In case of a custody arrangement, court documents must be on file

Emergency Procedures

  • In a medical emergency, 911 will be called immediately and parents notified
  • We maintain a current First Aid & CPR certification as required by CT OEC
  • Fire and emergency drills are conducted regularly per licensing requirements
  • An emergency contact and medical authorization form is required for every child
  • Parents are notified of any incidents, injuries, or unusual events on the same day

Behavior & Guidance

  • We use positive guidance and redirection — never punishment, isolation, or physical discipline
  • Consistent routines and clear, age-appropriate expectations help children feel secure
  • Persistent behavioral concerns will be discussed with parents in a private, supportive conversation
  • We work with families to support children with special behavioral or developmental needs
